Methods of Consumption

I. Raw Material - Hawthorn
Hawthorn (Crataegus pinnatifida), a plant belonging to the genus Crataegus in the Rosaceae family, has fruits that are nearly spherical or pear-shaped, with a diameter ranging from 1 to 1.5 centimeters. They are dark red in color and have light-colored spots. It is widely distributed in China and other regions and is a high-quality raw material for making hawthorn juice powder. Hawthorn itself contains rich nutritional components, including a large amount of organic acids, vitamins and minerals, etc. These components endow hawthorn juice powder with relatively high nutritional value as well.
II. Production Process
Raw Material Processing
Ripe hawthorns are picked, and then the fruit stalks, leaves and fruits with pests and diseases are removed. After that, they are washed with flowing clear water to remove impurities such as dust, soil and so on from their surfaces.
Juicing
The washed hawthorns can obtain hawthorn juice through mechanical pressing. During this process, the pressing equipment will apply appropriate pressure to the hawthorn fruits so that the juice in the pulp can flow out. To improve the juice yield, sometimes the hawthorns will be crushed. For example, they can be cut into small pieces before being pressed. Meanwhile, the juice and fruit pulp residues will be initially separated through a filtering device to ensure the purity of the juice.
Filtering and Clarifying
The freshly squeezed hawthorn juice may contain some fine fruit pulp fibers, seed fragments and other impurities. Through filtering equipment, these impurities are further removed to obtain clear and transparent hawthorn juice. This process is very important for the quality of hawthorn juice powder, because excessive impurities will affect the subsequent drying effect and the taste of the product.
Concentration
The filtered hawthorn juice contains a relatively large amount of water. In order to facilitate the subsequent drying process, it needs to be concentrated.
Drying
The concentrated hawthorn juice can be spray-dried. The concentrated hawthorn juice is sprayed into fine mist-like droplets through an atomizer. Under the action of hot air, the water evaporates rapidly and hawthorn juice powder is formed.
